Another release of yet a bunch of new features Spott built in January. This release contains some big structural changes to the Widgets (former styles), a open in same window click action, and some minor edits you requested.
Styles are now Widgets!
We've made some significant changes to the structure of the widget libraries.
"Styles" are now officially called "Widgets". We noticed that Style was not complete as it only described the look and feel of the Widget. So forth you will notice Widgets will be more prominent from now on.
The navigation tab has been changed to Widgets.
The widget page underwent some structural changes as well. We removed the Style sets and introduced Categories related to the purpose of your widgets.
You can still use predefined widgets from the Widget library.
New click action: Open in same window
Next to the bunch of interactive features Spott has. One crucial option was missing: Open in same window.
Direct links contain media title
On request from a few users, we've changed the title of the share links to contain the media title. That way, when you share it on your socials, you can control what is the title of the page.
No more visible API calls in the URL bar
Previously, when the end-user clicked one of the interactive assets, they got sent to a Spott redirecting page before continuing to the final URL. With this change, the final URL pops open immediately.
Meaning the time from click to page will be faster.
Lifted the limit on asset URLs
Earlier, it was not possible to have an asset URL with a domain extension longer than 6 characters. Because of this, some of the domain extensions weren't allowed. This limit has been raised to 15 to allow all domain extensions.
