In this article, we'll show you how to create and edit a new widget.
A widget contains everything that defines your interactivity; the look and feel of your marker and the tooltip, the click action, and the type of interactive representation.
Creating a new widget
Creating a new widget is very easy! Go to the Widget tab and click on "Create a new widget", enter a name and choose one of the starting templates.
Edit using the Widget editor
Once you have created your own widget, we will now go through the different aspects of what you can edit in the widget editor.
Note: all the widget settings are different depending on what starting template you use.
The widget editor looks like this. On the left side, you can change the settings of the widget and you will see the changes reflect on the right side.
Preview
To preview what you are creating, we have a few preview options available. These settings will not be saved with your widget and are for previewing while creating only.
Background color
At the bottom of the preview side, you can change the background color to see how your widget will look against all kinds of backgrounds.
Preview behavior
You can change the behavior of your widget, this setting will not be saved and is only used for previewing.
- Keep hovered: your tooltip is always visible, useful during styling
- Interactive: your tooltip will appear when interacted with, useful during the final check of your widget
